MEET THE BUSINESS OWNER: KIM D.

I am a Montana girl, although I have experience outside the state. I love hair and everything about it. I couldn't imagine doing anything else! I continue my education and that of my staff, which is a must for this industry and fun! My staff has been longstanding and is greatly appreciated. Wendell (Stylist) has been here since 1993, and Elizabeth (Stylist) has been here since 2000.

HISTORY: ESTABLISHED IN 1992

The building where Tangles is located was purchased in 1992. I created Tangles after 18 years in the hair industry. The building was built in 1932 as a gas station, with a stucco finish and clay tile roof, which is pretty fancy for a gas station. It needed a lot of renovation as the building was not cared for. The ventilation system installed keeps the air clean. "It doesn't smell like a salon," clients say. Tangles has one of the first reflecting light systems installed, a brand new technology in 1992, which uses the ceiling to bounce light off of and is still GREEN by today's standards. It's a healthy light for staff and a true natural light for color services, which is very important.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT TANGLES

Hair is our focus. We love everything about it. Our goal is to make it and its owners happy. A good cut can make your mornings so much easier. We can explain different styling techniques that will help, too. For our men, a great cut and proper finishing products will help you be in control. Color is art on its own. There are so many different techniques to create different results that we will just have to have a chat to decide the look you want. We do perms for both women and men. Your stylist will educate you on the do's and don'ts of at-home maintenance to keep your hair healthy. We have a large retail area with everything you will need to do so. The best part? Someone who knows what would work best for you and not end up with something you don't like or a waste of money. We also have HydroPeptide Skin Care—a top-of-the-line product. We do not do skin care services in the salon, but we use these products and know how awesome they are. Our salon environment is healthy because of a fresh air ventilation system. There is no smelly salon here. Our salon is clean, and we prefer it that way. Our work areas are private "Wet Stations." No walking around to be shampooed or chemicals rinsed out. We have wireless available. We also have a private parking lot.

STRAIGHT HAIR

STRAIGHT HAIR has factors that affect its behavior and look, such as growth pattern, texture, and density. Head structure is also fundamental. We understand this and use our knowledge to create a style/cut that works for you.

HAIR TEXTURE

WE CAN change the texture of your straight hair by adding curl (perm/texture) or just enough "body" to help your hair behave differently, hold a curl better, or add a touch of volume.

CURLY HAIR

NATURAL CURLY/WAVY hair has its' own special needs. Our staff all have a certain degree of body to their hair, from just a hint of a wave to extremely curly. Because curly hair can be different in how it lays from cut to cut or behaves differently in a humid to a dry environment, we can help you understand its unique "personalities" and how essential it is to keep it healthy.

HAIR RELAXING

WE CAN RELAX your curl for a different look. We have quality products, and your curl or needs will determine our use. We do not, however, use the " Brazilian Blowout " type of products due to the health-related issues with these kinds of services. (This is still a controversial subject, and the debate continues.)

HAIR COLORING

There are so many ways to color hair; it can be relatively straightforward or complicated. It is amazing what color can do, and it is so much fun to do, too! We can leave the style or length you already like and change the color!

CHEMICAL SOLUTIONS

ANY chemical hair service requires an experienced stylist and quality products. Our stylists are experienced and kept current with updated education. This allows us to offer you what's new and use those quality products expertly.

SKIN RETAIL PRODUCTS

WHILE WE DO NOT have skincare services in the salon, we have a professional skincare line called HYDROPEPTIDE. We here at Tangles care about our skin health and appearance like you do. That is why we recommend this Skin Care Line.
